Eight Winnipeg artists, all linked by the bonds of blood and friendship,
are launching their first group exhibition, KUSINA.
The name is a play on the communal and nourishing roots of the group.
Four of the artists are cousins, children of immigrants from the Philippines.
They grew up on the same Wolseley street.
The work of all eight artists is a playful exploration of various
aspects of domestic life, from the startling paper cutouts of Paul Robles
to the melancholy linen-dressed dolls of Dana Kletke.
You are welcome to their first, and certainly not last, group show, KUSINA.
Opening reception: Friday, May 7, 2004 at 7 p.m.
Exhibition runs: Friday, May 7 - Sunday, May 9, 2004
Gallery hours: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Adelaide McDermot Gallery, 318 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg.
